Gulf of Maine Habitat Restoration & Conservation Plan Draft Comment Period Open

A semifinal draft of the U.S. Gulf of Maine Habit Restoration and Conservation Plan: A Needs Assessment for Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts has been posted online for public comment. The plan calls for an immediate investment of nearly $2 billion over the next five years, plus sustained investment at that rate for 20+ years, to deal with issues of degraded water quality, lost and degraded habitat, toxins, invasive species, and climate change. It provides a rallying point for everyone who cares about a healthy Gulf of Maine ecosystem.
