Maine, Vt., step up regulation of polluted runoff

The Great Bay watershed extends into Maine and contains several Maine communities.  As mentioned in previous posts and published in the most recent State of the Estuaries Report, nitrogen loading due to storm water run-off is a susbstantial threat to Great Bay.

The state of Maine,  along with Vermont, have recently embraced regulation changes “designed to reduce runoff entering streams and other water bodies after heavy storms.”  Read the full article here.
